DNA Application Programmers Interface

What makes this all work?

What makes it possible?

Well, code of course !

Given our API & friendly licence agreement, this is the opportunity no self-respecting code-capable entrepreneur would pass-by.

Having solved a problem, never before solved, patented the solution & developed the reference implementation, we added API access & a friendly licence.

Incidentally, the problem was, how to email wider family, without contact details & without sharing any DNA basepairs.

There are several components & even more opportunities, for the entrepreneurial code-aware.

An app on the users own device is all that actually sees any DNA, from which a DNA-Address is deduced.

Separately, there is a plug-in, turning a mail server into DNA-mail servers.

There is even an eFranker, which can be used to create eStamps to fund your project, via your eCommerce website.

The reference implementation is written in Java, offering tremendous cross-platform capabilities.

The convenience of the API complements the entrepreneurial developer friendly licence agreement.

An example open-source mail-server has been plugged into, as the reference case. As a keen developer, you could plug the same into the mail-server of your choice. We are happy to support you in such endevours.

In actual fact, the plug-in is available, in & of it’s own right. Given a bit of imagination, it can be connected to wider projects, for the good of mankind. There is no reason to limit it to email. There is a proliferation of communication protocols out there, all of which could benefit from their own DNA connection. The only limit to the uses of this technology is imagination.

The eFranker can empower your eCommerce website to sell eStamps.

The DNA Interoperability Messaging Pact ensure global acceptance of your eStamps.

The original prototypes were Android specific. The reference implementation being Java based makes Android a very natural place to develop DNA-Messaging apps.

Although porting from Android to iOS can be more involved than first meets the eye, as the reference implementation makes only very light use of other libraries, porting the reference implementation from Java to Swift should be relatively convenient & we would be delighted to support you in that venture.
